If you’ve been wondering about something in your community, Ask The Times is your place to get answers. The following question was submitted by a reader and answered through the efforts of our news staff.

Does the Hall County pharmacy work for only some Hall County employees and not others?

The Hall County Family Health Center, which has a clinic and pharmacy, is only for Hall County government employees and their dependents. That does not include Hall County Schools employees, whose health insurance is through the state.

Bill Moats, county human resources director, said the county had discussions with the school system before the Family Health Center opened in January 2015, but the schools were not included because their insurance comes through a state provider.

Moats said the county sought to clarify the distinction early on after several bus drivers and teachers went to the pharmacy and tried unsuccessfully to use it.

“Their insurance doesn’t recognize that pharmacy,” Moats said.
