Angela Middleton, a Democrat and Gainesville native, will face the winner of the Republican primary for the District 4 seat on the Hall County Board of Commissioners this November.

The retired educator said “serving has been important in my life” and that it’s now time to “serve my community in a different role and capacity as we continue to grow.”

Middleton is the mother of one son, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of the Hall County alumni chapter of the Delta Sigma Beta sorority.

She spent 30 years teaching locally and is a respected basketball trainer and motivator.

But now Middleton is ready for a new challenge.

District 4 spans much of Gainesville, and Middleton said she hopes voters will see the value in new leadership and diversity on the county commission.

“At this time in my life, I want to I would like the opportunity to participate in the planning, development and economic growth of my community as we continue to improve upon our quality of life,” she said.
