An Alto woman has been charged in a Sunday afternoon crash on Ga. 365 that injured a motorcyclist.

Teresa Jane Williams, 50, was charged with DUI and failing to yield when entering the roadway, said Gordy Wright, spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol.

The wreck occurred about 2:55 p.m. at Alto-Mud Creek Road in Habersham County, just north of Hall County.

A 2006 Kawasaki driven by Robert Jordan Elliott, 46, of Cornelia, was traveling north on Ga. 365 when a 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Williams entered the intersection going west on Alto-Mud Creek, Wright said.

The motorcycle struck the left front side of the car.

Elliott was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. He was later transferred to Atlanta Medical Center, said Melissa Tymchuk, spokeswoman at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

His condition at Atlanta Medical wasn’t available. The hospital’s spokesman, Marcus Gordon, couldn’t be reached for comment.
