Authorities charged a Gainesville teen with violation of Georgia gang laws after he was allegedly seen spray-painting gang-related graffiti in a mobile home park Wednesday.

Rafael Munoz, 18, was charged with violation of the Georgia Street Gang and Terrorism Act and criminal trespass, Hall County Gang Task Force Lt. Scott Ware said.

Ware said a witness saw Munoz spray-painting the words "SUR 13" in blue on a trailer at the Skelton Mobile Home Park in the 2300 block of Ridgeway Drive Wednesday morning. Munoz is allegedly a member of SUR 13, a predominately Hispanic street gang, officials said.

The witness called 911 and gave officials a description of the car Munoz was seen driving, Ware said. The car was pulled over by a deputy on Atlanta Highway at Mundy Mill Road. Deputies noted that Munoz’ finger tips were stained blue and a search of the car turned up two partially used cans of blue spray paint, Ware said.

Munoz was booked into the Hall County jail.
