The five people injured Tuesday in a head-on collision in Gainesville are out of the hospital, according to Gainesville police.

Among those transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following the wreck were four adults and a 16-month-old child, who was initially listed in serious condition.

The wreck occurred about 10 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Montgomery Drive and Browns Bridge Road.

According to police spokesman Cpl. Kevin Holbrook, one of the drivers “stated a vehicle pulled out of Montgomery. In an attempt to avoid striking that vehicle, one of the vehicles crossed the center lane causing a head-on collision.”

The wreck, which involved a Honda Civic and a Toyota Camry, shut down Browns Bridge Road for about an hour and half late Tuesday morning.
