Growth in retail, housing permits and jobs marked a turnaround for the local economy in 2014, according to a year-in-review report issued Monday by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce. Meanwhile, the city of Gainesville issued the most permits for new home construction in a single year in 2014.
