Andy Stewart and Heather Ramsey were sworn in Wednesday as new members of the Gainesville City School System Board of Education.
They replace Brett Mercer and Delores Diaz, each of whom did not seek re-election last fall.
Stewart, 44, who has served as a member of the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is a graduate of Gainesville High who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Georgia. He is senior vice president for commercial lending at Peach State Bank and Trust.
Ramsey, 40, is a graduate of Milton High School in Alpharetta and earned a bachelor’s degree from what was then North Georgia College and State University and a doctorate of dental medicine from what was then the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She works at a dental practice Lawrenceville and also as the adjunct dentist in the Dental Hygiene School at Lanier Technical College.
