2 charged with manufacturing pot in Lula

Hall County drug enforcement officers arrested two people Thursday charged with manufacturing marijuana in Lula.

The Multi Agency Narcotics Squad charged Daniel George Norton, 39, of Lula, with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and felony possession of marijuana, according to a news release from Lt. Scott Ware.

Lydia Ann Norton, 34, of Lula, was charged with manufacturing marijuana and felony possession of marijuana.

The two were arrested at a home in the 5400 Block of Old Cornelia Highway. Five marijuana plants were seized along with a small amount of processed marijuana. The street value of the drugs were estimated at $10,000.

Both suspects were booked in at the Hall County Jail.

Agents with the Gainesville-Hall County MANS unit, Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Department of Natural Resources officers and Georgia State Patrol Aviation Division officers conducted the operation.
