Duluth teen killed after thrown from car in North Hall

A 16-year-old passenger was killed after being ejected from a car that wrecked Thursday, Jan. 17 on Ga. 283/Holly Springs Road in Clermont, according to authorities.

Taylor Beck, of Duluth, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the wreck, which occurred after 4:30 p.m. on Holly Springs Road east of Oxford Road.

Georgia State Patrol Assistant Post Commander Auston Allen said Austin Pappe, 21, of Duluth, was driving a 2008 Lexus IS 250 westbound on Holly Springs Road.

Pappe was trying to pass two other cars when he allegedly “lost control of the Lexus and traveled off of the roadway,” Allen wrote in an email.

“The Lexus struck several trees while rotating,” Allen wrote.

Pappe and another passenger Amy Beck, 38, of Duluth, were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with injuries.

Allen said charges are pending for Pappe.
