Sydney Wynn Wilson and Zachary Keith Segars were united in marriage on Aug. 24, 2013, at The Dogwood Chapel at Midway United Methodist Church in Gillsville. The bride is the daughter of Brian and Lisa Wilson of Flowery Branch and Mitch and Cree Aiken of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Keith and Kathy Segars of Gillsville.
Minister Gary Wilson performed the ceremony. Violinist Anna Bennett, mandolinist Malachi Mills and soloist Shannon Crocker presented a program of wedding music. Hannah Thomas presented reading of scripture.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The groom’s sister Haley Clay of Gainesville was matron of honor. The groom’s sister Allyson Segars of Gillsville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride’s friends Erin McGonigle of Gainesville, Hannah Strickland of Lula, Brittany Woodring of Gainesville, and Katie Griffin of Commerce, the bride’s stepsister Madison Dunagan of Flowery Branch, and the bride’s cousin Drew-Blakley Whitmire of Gainesville. The groom’s niece Falyn Clay of Gainesville and the groom’s cousin Callie Whitlock of Gillsville were the flower girls.
The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother Sawyer Wilson of Gainesville, the groom’s friends Tyler Roberts of Gillsville, Jordan Roberts of Gainesville, Mark Poole of Lula, Mitch Griffin of Commerce, and Thomas Baugh of Lula, and the groom’s brother-in-law Russell Clay of Gainesville. The bride’s cousins Kasen Wilson of Gainesville and Jacksen Wilson of Gainesville were the ring bearers.
Kaitlin Loggins and Chelsea Segars kept the bride’s book.
The bride carried her great-grandmother’s handkerchief and wore her mother’s sixpence.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at The Fat Finch in Maysville on the eve of the wedding.
The bride’s parents gave a reception at the Commerce Civic Center in Commerce following the ceremony.
Following a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple reside in Maysville.
