Elizabeth and Brian Looper

Elizabeth Ann Whitmire and Brian Lee Looper were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Sept. 5, 2009, at South Bend United Methodist Church in Gainesville. The bride is the daughter of Rod and Kathy Whitmire of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Dan and Debra Looper of Gainesville.

The Rev. Richard Long performed the ceremony. Organist Becky Witherow presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride's sister Emily Whitmire of Gainesville was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's friends Megan Southard, Stephanie Caldwell and Leslie Brooks, all of Gainesville, Brandi Singleton of Toccoa and Erica Howser of Clermont. The bride's cousin Allison Floyd of Gainesville was the flower girl.

The groom's father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom's brothers Mike and Jonathan Looper, both of Gainesville, the bride's brother Daniel Whitmire of Gainesville and the groom's friends Ryan Smith of Lula and Chris Davidson of Gainesville. The groom's nephew Lucas Looper of Gainesville was the ring bearer. Ushers were Jaden Looper, Nathan Emerson and Samual Emerson.

Ann and Kermitt Martin were the wedding coordinators. Julianna and Marimartin Towns kept the bride's book.

The bride wore her late maternal grandmother's pearls and diamond earrings borrowed from her sister.

The groom's parents gave a rehearsal dinner at the Martin residence in Gainesville on the eve of the wedding.

A reception was held in the fellowship hall at South Bend United Methodist Church in Gainesville following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Panama City Beach, Fla., the couple reside in Clermont.
