Caroline and Zachary Nix

Caroline Elizabeth Rider and Zachary Williams Nix were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 12, 2009, at Reynolds Mansion on Sapelo Island. The bride is the daughter of Vivian D. Rider of Gainesville and the late Scotty Rider. The groom is the son of Jimmy and Sheila Nix of Gainesville.

The Rev. Carolyn Douse performed the ceremony. Violinist Deborah Ray presented a program of wedding music.

The bride was presented in marriage by her brother Matthew Rider of Dahlonega. Bridesmaids were the bride’s cousin Lindsay Walker and the bride’s friends Alyssa Haney and Annie Wren, all of Gainesville, Caroline Cronic of Louisville, Ky., and Mary Katherine Pittman of LaGrange. The bride’s nieces Scarlett Rider and Dessie Youngblood, both of Dahlonega, and the groom’s cousins Emmaline Bagwell of Gainesville and Lizzie Doerr of LaGrange were the flower girls.

The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the groom’s friends Matthew Ralston, Dustin Oliver, Shane Stephens, William Quintero and Alan Fowler, all of Gainesville, and Scott Wallace of Atlanta. The bride’s nephew Matthew Rider II of Dahlonega was the ring bearer. Ushers were the bride’s brothers Matthew and Mark Rider.

The bride wore a cameo ring her father had given to her mother.

The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at Reynolds Mansion on the eve of the wedding.

The bride’s mother gave a reception at Reynolds Mansion following the ceremony.

Following a honeymoon to Negril, Jamaica, the couple reside in Gainesville.
