Rebekah Jo Hunt and John Clifford Barnette Jr. were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. March 10, 2012, at Watkinsville First Baptist Church in Watkinsville. The bride is the daughter of Donald and Kathy Hunt of Gainesville. The groom is the son of John and Candi Barnette of Watkinsville.
The Rev. Tom Smiley and Scott Carson performed the ceremony. Pianist Cindy Kelly, vocalists Scott and Rachel Christopher, and trumpeter Jared Hunt presented a program of wedding music.
The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s friend Mary Lee Jackson of Athens was maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were the groom’s sister Brittanie Barnette of Watkinsville, bride’s cousin Danielle Finley of Powder Springs, bride’s friends Sarah Steele Banks of Marietta, Lauren Carter of Gainesville, Natalie Echols of Augusta, Emily Lavender of Athens, Jordan Ormsbee of Lexington, Ky., Rebekah Ryan of Gainesville and Katie Spell of Athens. The groom’s cousin Azalee Ring of Hull was the flower girl.
The groom’s father was the best man. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother Jared Hunt of Austin, Texas, groom’s cousin Thomas Hagler of Chattanooga, Tenn., groom’s friends Brad Bell of Watkinsville, Colby Cameron of Monroe, Matt Dobbs of Athens, Matt Horne of Athens, Kevin Lamb of Lilburn, Benji Lavender of Athens, Jordan Posey of Atlanta, and Clint Watson of Athens. The couple’s friend Reed Carson of Watkinsville was the ring bearer. Ushers were Matt Wetmiller and John Robert White.
Crevolyn Wiley and Emily Williams were the wedding coordinators. Ashley Barrett, Alice Thomas, and Elizabeth Thomas assisted. Betsy Barrett kept the bride’s book.
The bride wore her maternal grandmother’s ring and carried her paternal grandparents high school rings.
The groom’s parents gave a rehearsal dinner at State Botanical Gardens in Athens on the eve of the wedding.

Following a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple reside in Watkinsville.
