Katherine Carlson and Shannon Holbrook were united in marriage at 3 p.m. March 6, 2008, at Napili Point in Maui, Hawaii. The bride is the daughter of William and Julie Carlson of Gainesville. The groom is the son of Vickey Holbrook of Flowery Branch and the late Barry Holbrook.

A minister and a guitarist presented a traditional Hawaiian wedding ceremony that included the blowing of a conch shell and an exchange of wedding leis.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. The bride’s sister Kristina Carlson of Gainesville was maid of honor.

The couple’s friend Tyler Sims of Gainesville was the best man. The bride’s cousin Parker Brademann of Cumming was the ring bearer.

The bride’s parents held a reception at the Bradford House & Gardens in Flowery Branch on April 26, 2008.
Following a wedding trip to Maui, the couple resides in Oakwood.
