Benny and Maxine Hatcher of Gainesville celebrated their 50th anniversary on March 30, 2008. A reception given by their daughter Leisa Babb, son-in-law Barry, grandchildren Courtney and Katilyn Babb, and friends was held in their honor at Yellow Creek Fellowship Hall in Murrayville.

The minister that married the couple attended their reception along with 175 friends and relatives.

The couple have one child and two grandchildren.
