The following local residents were named to the dean's list at Reinhardt University Waleska, Georgia for the fall 2011 semester. Dean's list students must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average based on successful completion of a minimum of 12 semester credits with no grade less than a B.

Flowery Branch: Emily Collins, Zachariah McElveen, Jessica Simmons;

Gainesville: James Dinwiddie, Scott Jones, Kanisha Howard;

Hoschton: Matthew Higgins.

Lillie Hamilton Jackson of Oakwood graduated Cum Laude from Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., during fall commencement.

Johnathan C. Shank of Flowery Branch, and Susan D. Mealor of Talmo graduated from Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y.

David Benson of Braselton graduated of Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan.

Julian Garcia of Flowery Branch was named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at Wingate University in Wingate, N. C. The dean's list requires a term GPA of 3.30 or at least 12 quality point academic hours with no grade below a C.

Eric Anthony Eck of Buford was named to the dean's list at Wofford College in Nashville, Tenn. To be named to the dean's list, a student must be enrolled for at least 12 semester hours of graded courses and attain a semester grade-point average of 3.6 or higher.

Kimberly Rose Mistarz and Raymond Scott Collison of Gainesville have been named to the president's list at Clemson University for the fall 2011 semester. To be named to the president's list, a student must achieve a 4.0 grade-point average.

Ryan Joiner of Gainesville was named to the dean's list at Highpoint University in Highpoint, N.C., for fall 2011. Dean's list students are those who earned a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Chestatee High School senior Rachael Lenore Dennis has earned the honor of second-chair bassoon in the 2012 Georgia All-State Symphonic Band.

Erin Paige McGonigle, daughter of Brian and Luann McGonigle, was named to the University of Georgia fall semester dean's list. A student is placed on the dean's list if the student has achieved during the preceding semester a grade point average greater than or equal to 3.50; earned at least 14 hours in courses numbered 1000 or higher; and received no grades below a B (3.0), no unsatisfactory grades, and no incomplete grades.

Cameron Scott Neal of Gainesville was named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at North Greenville University. To qualify for the dean's list, students must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average while taking a minimum of 12 hours.

Chelsea N. Sirard of Gainesville made the dean's list at Darton College for the fall 2011 semester. To qualify for the dean's list, a student must be full time and have earned a 3.4 or higher grade-point average

Charles Wood of Gainesville graduated from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., on Dec. 10. Wood received a bachelor of business administration degree.

Mitchell McCray of Gainesville was recently named to dean's list at the University of Hartford in Hartford Connecticut for the fall 2011 semester.

Colton Webber of Cleveland was recently named to the dean's list at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, for the fall 2011 semester. Students named to the dean's list must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 for the semester based on a 4.0 grade-point system and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

Aaron Simpson of Buford was named to the dean's list at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the fall 2011 semester. Students are named to the dean's list if they have achieved a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
