Lanier Tech students win several awards at statewide competition

Lanier Technical College students brought home three gold and three silver medals from the statewide SkillsUSA Postsecondary 2015 competition held March 26-28 at the Georgia International Conference Center. The awards were: Gold, automated manufacturing technology: Victor Roman of Gainesville, AJ Schamm of Marietta and Jake Morris of Cumming Gold, automotive refinishing technology: Jim Fuller of Lawrenceville Gold, computerized numeric control turning: Timothy Haigood of Murrayville Silver, cosmetology: Tonya Sheets of Dawsonville Silver, nail care: Leah Humphrey of Dawsonville Silver, mechantroics: Juan Montoya of Hoschton and Matthew Williamson of Braselton Gold winners will compete June 22-26 in the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Ky.
