Gainesville Rotary Club gets district award

For the third consecutive year, the Rotary Club of Gainesville has been named the District 6910 Club of the Year Award for Extra-Large Clubs. Club President Bonnie Oliver accepted the award on behalf of the club April 27 at the Rotary Annual Conference in Chattanooga. The club also garnered the Gold Award for Extra-Large Clubs, a literacy award for the club’s service projects toward literacy; the Polio Plus Rotary Foundation Award for the club’s contributions to eradicating polio around the world; the $100 per capita award for contributions to the Rotary Foundation; and a presidential citation from the president of Rotary International, Sakuji Tanaka for the club’s outstanding service for 2012-2013.
