Lowell Fuchs of Gainesville received two awards at the College of Arts and Sciences 2015 Honors Day Ceremony, most notably the Lucile Allen Memorial Scholarship.

The Georgia State University scholarship is awarded annually to a music theory or composition major who demonstrates a high standard of excellence.

He also was awarded the Robert Farrington Clayton Jr. Memorial Scholarship, which supports full-time music students who excel academically, exhibit financial need and possess strong moral character.

Derek Vann of Hoschton was awarded the John Demos Memorial Scholarship at the same ceremony.

That scholarship recognizes a junior, senior or incoming transfer student at the sophomore level or higher who demonstrates outstanding talent on a woodwind instrument and performs in two or more School of Music instrumental ensembles.
