Gainesville grad dons character of Mrs. Corry

Gainesville High School graduate Xylina Stamper donned the role of Mrs. Corry in the musical “Mary Poppins” during its run at Aurora Theatre in downtown Lawrenceville.

Stamper grew up under the direction of Gainesville High School teacher Pam Ware, who provided a theatrical foundation.

Stamper founded a drama enrichment program called Standing Ovation Performing Arts. She also performs and teaches musical theater and private acting and voice in Alpharetta.

Stamper’s credits include being voted best actress for The Drowsy Chaperone at the Aurora Theatre 2014 Barbara Awards and Martha Crachit in “A Christmas Carol” at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.
