Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ware of Royston announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Sarah Whitney Ware to Mr. Tommy Roger Appling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Appling of Buford.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Carol Booth of Royston, the late Mr. and Mrs. James Ware and the late Mr. Joe Reynolds.

She is a 2004 graduate of Franklin County High School in Carnesville. She graduated in 2006 from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs with an associate's degree in pre-pharmacy. She graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens in 2009 and Life University in Marietta in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in dietetics and nutrition. She is employed as a nutritionist.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Daisy Proctor of Charleston, S.C., the late Mr. Charlie Proctor, Mr. William Flynn of Charleston, S.C., Mrs. Betty Appling of Gainesville and the late Rev. Tommy R. Appling.

He is a 1999 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2009 from Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He is the owner of Applings Landscaping.

The couple plan to wed Nov. 6, 2010, at The Georgia Club in Statham.
