C.V. and Lynne Smith of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Brooke Erin Smith to Christopher James Russell, son of Jim and Debbie Russell of Statham.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Hoyt T. and Martha G. Pinson and the late Vernon and Willonell Smith.

She is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2008 from Piedmont College in Demorest with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a teacher in Gainesville with the Hall County School System.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Jim and Barbara Russell of Statham, Mary Jane Dephue of Dacula, Barbara Foster of Indianapolis, Ind., and the late James K. Foster.

He is a 2003 graduate of Winder-Barrow High School in Winder. He graduated in 2007 from Piedmont College in Demorest with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is employed as a bail bonding agent with AAA Bonding Inc., in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed June 18, 2011, in Gainesville.
