Mr. Stanley L. Mize and Mrs. Cindy D. Mize of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Lauren Ashley Mize to Mr. Brandon Thomas Smiley, son of Dr. Thomas R. Smiley and Mrs. Terri D. Smiley of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. John L. Kenimer and Mrs. Vernell Kenimer of Lula, and the late Mr. Marion Lee Mize and Mrs. Margaret Jeanette Mize.

She is a 2004 graduate of Chestatee High School in Gainesville. She plans to graduate in 2010 from Gainesville State College in Oakwood with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Joanne C. Smiley of Gainesville, the late Mr. James Harry Smiley, Mrs. Jeanette C. Dennington of Midway and the late Mr. Donald Lee Dennington.

He is a 2000 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He attended West Georgia College & State University in Carrolton. He is employed as a Carrier sales representative with Turbo Logistics in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed July 18, 2009, at The Inn at Sutton Mill in Clarkesville.
