Timothy James and Jimmy Faye Meeks of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Amber Maranda Meeks to William Andrew Dean, son of Jack Edd Dean of Gainesville and the late Angela Leisa Dean.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Ella Faye Heaton of Gainesville, the late Carlton Heaton, Bobbie Meeks of Gainesville and the late Morgan Meeks.

She is a 2005 graduate of East Hall High School in Gainesville. She is pursing a bachelor's degree in early childhood education at Gainesville State College in Oakwood. She is employed as a prekindergarten assistant with The Goddard School in Flowery Branch.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Lane Martin of Gainesville, the late Birdie Martin and the late Harse and Adel Miller.

He is a 2004 graduate of Johnson High School in Oakwood. He is a self-employed mechanic in Gainesville.

The couple plan to wed June 8, 2009, at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
