Dr. Lauren Palmer of Flowery Branch and Mr. Roy D. McGaughey III of Decatur announce the engagement of their daughter Noel Violet McGaughey to Pawel Komuda, son of Edyta Komuda of Sugar Hill and Jerzy Komuda of Szczecin, Poland.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marian McGaughey of Decatur and the late Roy D. McGaughey Jr. and Richard and Nedra Palmer of Flowery Branch.

She is a 2007 graduate of Flowery Branch High School in Flowery Branch. She is pursuing a degree at Georgia State University in Atlanta in criminal justice.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Boguslaw and Marzenna Maliszewski of Sugar Hill and Waclaw and Wanda Komuda of Olsztyn, Poland.

He is a 2006 graduate of Collins Hill High School in Suwanee. He is attending Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville.

The couple plans to wed this summer.
