Major and Mrs. John McCleary of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter 1st Lt. Sara Rachel McCleary to 1st Lt. Phillip Edward Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Walker of Gainesville, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herb Ingram of Inverness, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Del McCleary of Cooper City, Fla.

She is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville She graduated in 2008 from North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She is employed as a CH-47 Chinook helicopter aviator in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Rucker, Ala.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Elizabeth Walker of Lakeland, Fla.

He is a 2001 graduate of F.W. Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Fla. He graduated in 2008 from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Fla., with a bachelor’s degree in history. He is employed as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter medical evacuation aviator in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Rucker, Ala.

The couple plan to wed in Gainesville.
