Joseph and Vicki Lewis of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Katy Marie Lewis to Matthew Gregory Mitchell, son of Greg and Barbara Mitchell of Gainesville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Carolyn and the late Bobby Smallwood of Gainesville, and Clara and the late Calvin Lewis of Gainesville and Joseph McGrath of Baltimore, Md.

She is a 2005 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2010 from North Georgia College & State University with a bachelor's degree in finance.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Joyce Ramsay and the late Thomas Ramsay of Elmwood Ill., and Eugene and Lois Mitchell of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

He is a 2004 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He attended North Georgia College & State University. He is currently in training for Security Forces with the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

The couple plan to wed in April, 2011, in St. Pete Beach, Fla.
