Dennis and Vinie Beth Jackson of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Lee Jackson to Robert Johnson Herron, son of Danny and Susan Herron of Brentwood, Tenn.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lunelle Jackson of Ellijay and the late Calvin Jackson, and the late Oscar Lee and Vinie Fay Smith.
She is a 2007 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2011 from the University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in social work, and in 2012 with a master’s degree in social work. She is employed as the executive administrator at Downtown Ministries in Athens.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Carole Blackwell of Nashville, Tenn., and Sue Herron of Gallatin, Tenn., and the late Dan P. Herron.
He is a 2007 graduate of Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tenn. He graduated in 2011 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., with a degree in history. He received a master’s of divinity at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo. He is employed as a youth director at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Athens.
The couple plan to wed May 30, 2015, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Athens.
