Doug and Nancy Hulsey of Murrayville announce the engagement of their daughter Megan Miranda Hulsey to Kirby James Smith, son of Dan and Joy Smith of Cumming.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late J.C. and Mandy Hulsey, and Fannie Ruth Satterfield of Clermont and the late Verle Satterfield.

She is a 2010 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She graduated in 2014 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a fourth-grade teacher at Wauka Mountain Multiple Intelligences Academy in Gainesville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Jimmy and Sarah Smith of Cumming, and Maurice Smith of Odessa, Fla., and the late Herman Smith.

He is a 2008 graduate of North Forsyth High School in Cumming. He graduated in 2012 from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. He is employed as an insurance agent at Pointe North Insurance Group in Dawsonville.

The couple plan to wed Oct. 25, 2014, at Antioch United Methodist Church in Gainesville.
