Mr. and Mrs. Steven Clever of Gainesville announce the engagement of their daughter Miss Ashley Marie Clever to Mr. Michael Palatiello, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Palatiello of Reston, Va.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rice of Emmitsburg, Md., and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Clever of Thurmont, Md.

She is a 2003 graduate of James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Md. She graduated in 2007 from The University of Georgia in Athens with a bachelor's degree in dietetics. She is employed as a registered dietition with Dominion Hospital in Reston, Va. She is a member of Children's International.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wells Denyes and the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Palatiello.

He is a 2004 graduate of Herndon High School in Herndon, Va. He graduated in 2008 from Clemson University in Clemson, S.C., with a bachelor's degree in marketing. He is employed as a sales representative with DLT Solutions in Herndon, Va.

The couple plan to wed May 19, 2011, at Atlantic United Methodist Church in Ocean City, Md.
