Melvin and Martha Burruss of Clermont announce the engagement of their daughter Meredith Ruth Burruss to John Charles Ford, son of Dr. Huey and Sandra Ford of Murrayville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Robert Clay and Sylvia Young Burruss of Gainesville and the late Ernest Andrew and Leathora Millwood Williams.

She is a 1999 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. She attended Gainesville State College. She is employed as a certified pharmacy technician with Wauka Mountain Pharmacy in Clermont.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Louise Cayton and Charles Boothe Sr. and the late Mildred Hallock and Huey Ford Jr.

He is a 1998 graduate of North Hall High School in Gainesville. He graduated in 2002 from Lanier Technical College in Oakwood with a degree in marketing management. He is employed as a crew chief with Marine Specialities in Gainesville.

The couple plans to wed May 31, 2008, at The Stovall House in Sautee Nacoochee.
