John P. and Tommie R. Bartlett of McRae announce the engagement of their daughter Jo Ann Bartlett to Scott Walker Loyd, son of Gregory W. and Peggy W. Loyd of Flowery Branch.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Wilber T. Dickens of Tifton, the late Emma Vinson Dickens and the late Ernest W. and Lillian P. Bartlett.

She is a 2002 graduate of Telfair County High School in McRae. She graduated in 2006 from Mercer University in Macon with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. She is employed as an industrial engineer with Academy Sports + Outdoors in Jeffersonville.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Annie Lou Riner Loyd of Nahunta, the late George Arnold Loyd and the late Arch and Mary Walker.

He is a 2002 graduate of Gainesville High School in Gainesville. He graduated from Mercer University in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and in 2008 with a master’s degree in computer engineering. He is employed as a research engineer with Georgia Tech Research Institute in Warner Robins.

The couple plan to wed July 3, 2010, at The Blacksmith Shop in Macon.
