Lee and Patsy Attaway of Braselton announce the engagement of their daughter Laura Leigh Attaway to Richard Michael Pityer Jr., son of Eliane Pityer of Lilburn and Rick Pityer of Sunrise, Fla.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Holland and Eudora McEver and the late Lamar and Austine Attaway.

She is a 1991 graduate of Jackson County High School in Jefferson. She attended Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls. She is employed as a kindergarten paraprofessional with North Jackson Elementary in Talmo.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Selma Harkleroad of Rossville, the late Mr. and Mrs. Guy Trawick and the late Mr. G.M. Pityer.

He is a 1989 graduate of Norcross High School in Norcross. He is currently attending Shorter College in Rome. He is employed as an office manager with First Class Roll Off in Buford.

The couple plans an open-church wedding for 2 p.m. Dec. 29, 2007, at Hoschton First Baptist Church in Hoschton.
