Concert raises money for mission in Nicaragua

Amigos for Christ, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for families in Nicaragua, is set to have their annual music festival on Oct. 4.

The free event will feature Christian music bands Caedmon's Call, The Afters, Matt Maher, Shae Laurel, 12 Stone Band and Chasing Grace, among others.

Christian comedian and author Matthew Paul Turner also will be on hand.

The day will begin with the 8th Pedal for the Poor. The 14-mile bike ride for adults begins at 10 a.m. and the Family Fun Ride at 1 p.m.

Live entertainment will begin at noon and activities for children will continue throughout the day. There will also be a variety of local food vendors available.
