Playing blackjack, craps and Texas Hold 'em is one way the Gainesville Jaycees plan on filling their Empty Stocking Fund in 2009.

The Casino Royale event on Saturday raises money for children in need during the holidays.

"All the money we've raised in December, and then this event, will benefit the Empty Stocking Fund for 2009," said Reagan Wolfe, the Casino Royale chairman. "This is just a party celebrating the end of the fundraising.

"This is one of the best fundraisers as far as feedback ... everybody had such a good time we decided to try it again."

About 200 guests are expected for the second annual event at the Chattahoochee Country Club. Tickets are $100 for a single ticket or $150 for a couples ticket, which includes a catered dinner, beer and wine and five "fish bowl" tickets.

"Air Tran Airways has given us two round-trip flights up to $500 a piece - so a $1,000 value - so that's one of the best (prizes)," Wolfe said. "Also, a Mark Richt autographed football. We've got several restaurant gift certificates. We've got (a) Shuler's (Great Outdoors) gift certificate."

The idea, Wolfe added, was to bring the prizes to a higher level.

"We tried to really elevate the prizes this year to $100 value and above. There are some that are a little less but our goal is for everyone to walk out of there with something, if possible."

Other prizes include a weekend cabin getaway in Blairsville, Atlanta Hawks tickets and a Gainesville Motorsports Polaris Ranger.
