Between families, work and other commitments that just go along with life, the members of Mid Life Crisis don’t get many chances to play a show together.

So, when the opportunity arises to catch the local favorites in concert, it is a chance for concertgoers to get a rare treat and hear some good music, too.

Mid Life Crisis will perform a benefit show on Saturday for Eagle Ranch, mixing lots of favorite cover songs with a few originals by lead vocalist Allen Nivens.

“We’re going to stick to the format that we’ve kinda always had — the Southern and classic rock and some country,” Nivens said. “We do have some new songs within those genres that we’ve put in, and (the band is) kind enough to let me throw in a couple originals of mine.”

Nivens said to expect music spanning from the 1960s to today.

This is the second year the band is performing for Eagle Ranch’s benefit.

“We did the exact same thing last year and it was one of the funnest shows we’ve ever had,” he said. “They have a neat amphitheater-type setting. It is really conducive to people who want to dance up front or listen in the back. It’s picnic style and a real neat venue.”
