Haunted house benefits local deputy Thursday

There's an added benefit to scaring yourself silly Thursday.

For every ticket sold at Dungeon of Fear, the haunted house at 528 Bradford St. in Gainesville, $5 will go to benefit Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Joe Groover, who was injured Aug. 11 during a standoff in Lula. And while there is not usually a parking fee for Dungeon of Fear, there will be a $3 fee charged tonight to also go to the cause.

Plus, there will be a concession stand run by Brad's Grill, which will donate the evenings' proceeds to the cause.

Admission to the haunted house is $15, and the entrance is located on Main Street. Dungeon of Fear is open 7 p.m.-midnight today through Saturday and 7 p.m.-11 p.m. on Sunday. The haunted house is open daily Oct. 23 through Nov. 1, and will be open 7 p.m.-1 a.m. on Halloween.
