Tennis playoffs: Flowery Branch girls open state with dominant win against Druid Hills

Sandra Hernandez won in straight sets at No. 1 singles for the Flowery Branch girls, while the doubles team of Violet Shultz/Richney Nguyen also won without dropping a set in a 3-0 win against Druid Hills to open the Class 4A state playoffs Monday. 

At No. 1 doubles, Ally Shedd/Haley Bursinger won 6-0, 6-1 for Flowery Branch. 

With the win, the Lady Falcons advance to face West Laurens in the second round next week in Dexter.
