The North Hall High volleyball team opened with a decisive win, beating Adairsville (25-11, 25-12, 25-11) to begin the Class 3A state tournament Saturday in Gainesville. With the win, the Lady Trojans will host the Johnson-Savannah/Windsor Forest winner in the second round on Tuesday.
“This was a great start to the tournament,” Lady Trojans coach Emi Hughes said. “The girls were focused and ready. However, they know we still have work to do.”
For North Hall, Grace Hollifield had 17 kills, two blocks and three aces, while Maci Gillespie chipped in 25 assists and three kills.
Madison Brock had two kills, 19 digs and two aces for the Lady Trojans, while Sarah Davidson finished with three kills.
Lexi Martin had four aces, 14 digs and three kills for North Hall, while Mackenzie Crisp had three aces, three kills and a block.
Alexandria Bryant had three kills and nine digs for the Lady Trojans, while Karsyn Savage had two digs.
