Senior Ansleigh Hollifield played lights out for the Buford softball team Wednesday night, leading the Lady Wolves (22-9) to 5-0 and 11-0 wins over Ola High School to send Buford to the state tournament for the 15th consecutive year.

Hollifield started and pitched a perfect game in the opening contest, striking out a career high 16 without letting a single batter reach base. She was also 3 for 3 at the plate with a home run and a pair of doubles. Fellow senior Anabel Adams added a home run of her own in the game, while Abbi Perkins was 1 for 2 with an RBI double.

Hollifield got the start in the night cap as well, pitching the first 3 1/3 innings and striking out six. She was also 3 for 3 in Game 2, hitting two more home runs and bringing in four RBIs. Adams was 3 for 3 as well with five RBIs as she came just a double short of the cycle in the dominant win.

Buford will advance to the state tournament in Columbus, where it will play its first game against an undetermined opponent at 4 p.m., Oct. 24.
