High school football: JD Brooks scores five touchdowns to lead Gainesville to 48-21 win over Habersham Central

JD Brooks ran for five touchdowns as Gainesville beat Habersham Central 48-21 on Friday at City Park Stadium. 

Brooks punched it in for his first score after an interception and 75-yard return by Quez Borders down to the Raiders’ 2. 

Gainesville (3-4, 1-1 Region 8-6A) padded its lead early with two touchdowns in the final four minutes of the first half to go into the locker room up 35-14. 

The Red Elephants finished with 409 yards of offense. 

Lenny Chatman had 49 yards receiving for Gainesville. 

After a bye, Gainesville visits Winder-Barrow on Oct. 25.
