High school basketball scoreboard: Chestatee claims narrow win over White County behind Nicholson's six 3-pointers

Brenton Nicholson scored 18 point on six 3-pointers for the Chestatee basketball team Friday evening as the War Eagles took down White County 52-49. 

Jonah Bull added 10 points, and Kyle Bowmar scored 9. 

On Tuesday, Chestatee will go up against Blessed Trinity on the road.

CHEROKEE BLUFF BOYS 70, GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN 58: Griffin Neville scored 24 points to pace the Bears (16-8, 8-3 Region 7-3A) and Bosko Norman chipped in 18. 

Cherokee Bluff will play host to Dawson County on Tuesday for another region contest at 8:30 p.m.

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 48, CHEROKEE BLUFF 41: Madi Phillips led the Lady Bears with a 12-point, 15-rebound double-double that included her 500th career rebound with the school. Timber Gaither added 14 points. 

Cherokee Bluff will take on Dawson County at 7 p.m. Tuesday at home.

JOHNSON GIRLS 43, WALNUT GROVE 34: Jazmyn Gooch led the way for the Lady Knights (2-20, 1-7 Region 8-5A) with 12 points, while Tytiana Teasley chipped in 10. 

Up next, Johnson will go on the road to take on Cedar Shoals on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.

WALNUT GROVE BOYS 65, JOHNSON 34: Buddha Johnson paced the Knights with 11 points, and Jesse Harbin scored 9. 

Johnson will play Cedar Shoals on the road on Tuesday.

BUFORD GIRLS 56, CEDAR SHOALS 33: The Lady Wolves took control with a 28-point lead at halftime in Friday’s game at the Buford City Arena. Tate Walters and Ashyia Willis each finished with 10 points.

Up next, Buford visits Wesleyan at 4 p.m. today in Norcross.

LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY BOYS 77, PEACHTREE ACADEMY 69: Trevin Last scored 22 points to go along with 18 rebounds for the Lightning, and Stephen Clark chipped in 16. Thomas Avery added a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double in the win.

LANIER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY GIRLS 51, PEACHTREE ACADEMY 30: Faith Wasden put in 17 points to lead the Lady Lightning (13-3) in scoring. Also in double-digits, Reece Montgomery scored 13. 

Lanier Christian Academy will travel to take on Bethlehem Christian Academy this evening.

BANKS COUNTY BOYS 54, ELBERT 51: Carl Cleveland led the way for the Leopards (18-4, 9-2 Region 8-2A) with a 22-point, 12-rebound double-double, while Pierce Martin added 10 points with nine boards. Garrett Pressley and Clay Gosnell each scored 7.

Banks County will play host to Oglethorpe today at 6:30 p.m.
