Middle School Cross County: North Hall's boys, girls programs honored for 2022 accomplishments with resolution at state capital

On March 15, the North Hall Middle boys and girls cross country teams were presented with a resolution for their accomplishments during a visit to the state capital in Atlanta. 

In 2022, these two programs were both the state champions (boys were fastest at state of any state champion, while the girls were second fastest). With these results, North Hall earned grand-champion program.

The North Hall Middle girls have won four straight county championships, while the Trojans boys have won back-to-back county titles. 

This season, Maverick Smith led the North Hall boys with a new school-record time of 10 minutes, 45 seconds in the 3200-meter distance He also ran for the national-championship squad from Georgia, earning 11th overall. 

Both programs garnered 20 combined trophies and medals at the state championship meet Oct. 15 in Bleckley. 

This year, North Hall’s Middle School boys went undefeated.
