BACK TO BACK! Chestatee boys repeat as cross country state champions

On Friday, the Chestatee boys cross country squad repeated as Class 4A state champions. 

Paced by a second-place spot from senior Garrett Grater (16 minutes, 41 seconds) and fourth place from his twin brother Gavin Grater (16:53), the War Eagles were able to edge out second-place Marist. 

Also for the War Eagles, Aaron Retana earned seventh overall (17:00) and Javier Rebollar was eighth (17:08).

In Class 3A, West Hall senior Stephen Clark earned third place (16:51).

Also in Class 3A, North Hall had freshmen Clodagh O’Bryant finish fourth (20:04) and Harleigh Smith earned fifth place (20:22). Cherokee Bluff’s Adison Myers placed seventh (21:03).

In Class 4A, Flowery Branch’s Bella Brick top sixth place (20:22).
