Gartrell a favorite in the clubhouse for Gwinnett
Gwinnett Braves outfielder Stefan Gartrell broke out on an 0-for-11 slump with a pair of home runs in a 5-2 win against the Louisville Bats on Monday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.
With the win, Gwinnett (54-42) manager Dave Brundage now has 1,000 career wins at the minor league level.
Gartrell gave Gwinnett a 3-1 lead in the third inning with a three-run home run. He added a solo home run in the fifth inning.
G-Braves starter Julio Teheran pitched five innings and didn't allow an earned run to pick up his 10th win of the season. He also went 2 for 2 at the plate, including a double and a run scored.
Gwinnett left fielder Jose Constanza also had two hits. The team also welcomed its 1,000,000 visitor to Coolray Field in the team's third season in Lawrenceville.
Gwinnett plays host to Louisville at 7:05 tonight at Coolray Field.
