FORT MILL, S.C. — After winning the first two games of the series, the Charlotte Knights were hoping to get a series sweep to finish off the 2010 season. The Gwinnett Braves had other plans as they defeated the Knights 7-0 at Knights Stadium.

The Braves went after Knights starter Jeff Marquez early in the game scoring two runs in the first inning on a Brent Clevlen double. Clevlen went 3-for-4 in the game with three RBIs and Luis Bolivar hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning to cap the Gwinnett scoring.

Gwinnett didn’t need a lot of offense as its pitching kept Charlotte hitters from causing much damage. The Knights were only able to put together six hits in the game. Braves starting pitcher Erik Cordier allowed no runs and struck out three to get his first career Triple-A win.
