The Rochester Red Wings banged out a season-high 14 hits and picked up a 6-4 win over the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves in the opener of the four-game series Saturday night at Frontier Field in Rochester, NY. The loss, the G-Braves’ fourth in a row, combined with a 7-1 Charlotte win over Durham, has now cut the Gwinnett lead to two games in the International League South Division. Rochester starter Cole DeVries (1-4) went eight innings for his first win of the season. He gave up six hits, four earned runs, walked none and struck out six.
