The West Hall Middle School track and field team won the boys and girls events in the Hall County Championship on Wednesday.

The Patriot boys finished the day with 106 points, beating out second-place C.W. Davis’ 105 points for the win.

North Hall finished third with 72 points, followed by Chestatee in fourth with 62, South Hall in fifth with 56, East Hall in sixth with 46 and Gainesville in seventh with three.

The Lady Patriots’ 135 points earned them first-place honors, followed by South Hall’s 105, C.W. Davis’ 75, Chestatee’s 54, North Hall’s 56, East Hall’s 20 and Gainesville’s 19.

The Patriot boys were led by Kim Minseon, who finished first in the long jump (17-feet) and the triple jump (37-5), and Ali Idris, who won the 1600 (5 minutes, 25 seconds) and 800-meter (2:30.44).

East Hall’s Austin Mahaffey also won two events, finishing first in the 100 (11.81) and 200-meter (24.34).
In the girls events, LeNiesha Kearse pulled in three wins for West Hall, earning top honors in the triple jump (29-8.75), the 200 (27.04) and the 100 hurdles (15.62). Laykin Herford won two events for the Lady Patriots in the 1600 (6:14.24) and 800 (2:51.34).
