APPLING — Buford resident  Tom Mann, Jr. caught a five-bass limit weighing 13 pounds, three ounces Friday, to capture the lead in the FLW Series BP Eastern Division tournament on Clarks Hill Lake.

With a three-day catch of 15 bass weighing 36-9, he holds a 2-pound, 3-ounce lead over his closest competitor, Chris Martinkovic of Liberty Township, Ohio, heading into the final day of competition.

 “It’s the oddest fishing I have ever done,” said Mann, Jr. who took over first place in today’s standings. “I am just elated to be in the top 10 and fishing (today).”
