Local golf: Sizemore wins Chicopee Woods Senior Championship in playoff

Randy Sizemore notched a two-day score of 143 and defeated Jim Foote in a playoff to earn the victory at the Chicopee Woods Senior Championship last weekend in Gainesville.

Foote carded a 75 on day one, followed by a 68 in the final round.

In the Super Senior division, Duane Roberts carded a 145 for the win. Walter Hope came in second, and Tom Bolton placed third.

In flighted play, Mike Kishimoto won the first flight, Len Kaper won the second flight, and Terry McFarland tied Tom Frier for first place in the third flight.

CLGA: The Chattahoochee Ladies Golf Association played a low gross, low net event last Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

In the first flight, Ann Hollobaugh won low gross; Carolyn Palmer took low net. In the second flight, Beulah Land won low gross and Kirsten Coleman won low net.

Closest to the pin winners were Hollobaugh (No. 3) and Coleman (No. 17).

CMGA: The Chattahoochee Men’s Golf Association played a Stableford points game last Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.

Joe Kolesar, Don Sorrell, Denny Momper and Wayne Nelson came in first, followed by Dick Bachman, Bob Henderson, Carlyle Cox and Dave Griffin in second place.

Dennis Jones, Geoff Derryberry, Jim Van Dyke and Roy Lyle finished in third place.

Closest to the pin winners were Mike Kuczmarski (No. 3 and No. 17), Cox (No. 5) and Clay Bartlett (No. 12).
